A New Community of Practice

• I had the pleasure to speak recently with Maya Hasan, who is building out a new, global community of practice for the #ShiftThePower movement. Maya explained it as a “human-first, professional-second” space, for folks who care about this work to connect as people. They’re having an open co-design call on October 22 - RSVP here.
• This feels like a nice complement to the more professional spaces already out there. With global crises compounding and mental health challenges and burnout increasing right alongside, there's a need for more informal places to connect with like-minded people.
• Meanwhile, from the world of existing communities: the PGM Community held a powerful event, Participatory Grantmaking During Polycrisis, featuring folks from Rawa Fund, Dalan Fund and Purposeful. And Trust-Based Philanthropy Project reflected recently on where they’re headed, including a new partnership with The Giving Practice at Philanthropy Northwest.
